Jenn, Trainer & Assistant

Jenn has loved animals her entire life, and in the last few years began working with dogs. After graduating from college she started volunteering at an animal shelter, walking dogs and helping with an off leash play group. During the two years volunteering, Jenn also began fostering dogs.  She has fostered over 10 dogs for three different organizations and through her fostering she discovered her love for training!

It was only a matter of time before Jenn wanted a dog of her own. She currently owns Kaia, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and they compete and have titled in conformation, hunt tests, obedience, rally, and agility! Training for and competing in these events is how she spends most of her weekends and free time.

Jenn has proudly accomplished an abundance of titles on Kaia, who is just two years old, including:

AKC Championship
NSTDR Championship
Junior Hunter
Working Certificate
Beginner Novice (with 3 first places)
Companion Dog (with 3 first places)
Novice Agility Jumper (with two first and one second place)
Trick Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced
CGC, CGC-A, CGC-U and VHMA

Jenn loves helping people train their dogs, and working with dogs of all skill levels. She has personal experience with reactive dogs, and has a lot of empathy for owners struggling with their dogs. She believes strongly in the application of obedience training in real world situations, and implementing training as part of everyday life. Jenn is always working on expanding her training knowledge, and regularly attends workshops and seminars.

In addition to training, Jenn runs the behind the scenes at BK9. She is also fluent in American Sign Language and works as a professional ASL Interpreter!
